Be Prepared…
The Boy Scouts adopted the motto “Be Prepared”. It is apt for Christians as
well.
We cannot fully realize or accept the gift of the Resurrection unless we first
understand who we are: frail humans in need of salvation. With that
realization we can then strive to open ourselves to God’s grace by confessing
our fallen nature and acknowledging our need for God’s help.
We need to be prepared for God to act in our lives. We need to be prepared
for God to change us, so that we may grow fully when the opportunity
arrives.
Jesus spoke of the foolish attendants who allowed their lamps to burn low on
oil. Let us always strive to be ready for the coming of the King.
